Detox & Recovery Lead
Closes the loop — guiding users out of compulsion and measuring whether they stay free.
Role Summary
The Detox & Recovery Lead designs and runs the directorate's detox protocols — the structured intervention sequences that guide users exiting compulsion loops through withdrawal, behavioral substitution, and sustained recovery. The role measures relapse rates with clinical rigor, iterates protocol design against real outcome data, and partners with Unranked's public digital-wellbeing tools to deliver recovery pathways that work without revealing the directorate behind them. Breaking a compulsion loop is the counter-pattern's job; this role ensures the human on the other side stays free.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, test, and iterate detox and recovery protocols for users exiting platform compulsion loops, calibrating intervention intensity to dependency severity.
- Measure and track relapse rates, recovery timelines, and long-term behavioral outcomes with clinical-grade methodology and full data provenance.
- Operate the Detox & Triage facility, triaging inbound cases by severity and matching each to the appropriate protocol pathway.
- Partner with Unranked's public tools team to surface recovery pathways through legitimate channels without exposing the directorate's involvement.
- Collaborate with Behavioral Modeling Specialists on withdrawal-curve models and with Counter-Pattern Engineers on the remediation-to-recovery handoff.
- Brief the Science Director on protocol efficacy, population-level recovery trends, and any protocol exhibiting dependency-substitution effects for immediate review.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate training in clinical psychology, behavioral health, addiction science, or a related discipline.
- Research or clinical experience in behavioral-change intervention, habit disruption, or dependency recovery.
- Rigorous outcome-measurement discipline with clinical-grade data-handling standards.
- Ethical clarity on the distinction between supporting recovery and engineering dependence on the recovery tool.
Preferred Qualifications
- Published research in digital dependency, screen-time intervention, or behavioral-addiction recovery.
- Experience designing stepped-care or adaptive-intervention protocols.
- Familiarity with the directorate's Counter-Op Tier framework and the Detox-Sanction escalation level.
