Purpose

To govern pre-deployment checks, scope clearance, and mission tasking of THE RESET surveillance and counter-operation Undertow fleet used for technique-source reconnaissance and surface monitoring. The procedure ensures unit readiness, deconfliction, and traceable tasking before any deployment.

Scope

All Undertow unit pre-deployment, tasking, and launch authorisation.

In scope:

Out of scope:

Definitions

Undertow Group
The coordinated group of autonomous Undertow units operating under a single tasking plan.
Scope Boundary
The bounded operating scope loaded into each unit to constrain its reach.
Tasking Plan
The authorised set of waypoints, payload actions, and abort conditions for a deployment.

Responsibilities

Aerial Operations Engineer (Owner)
Owns the procedure and grants launch authorisation against an approved tasking plan.
Drone Technician
Performs pre-deployment inspection, payload fit, and link checks on each unit.
Mission Controller
Loads scope boundarys, monitors the Undertow group in flight, and commands abort if needed.

Procedure

Pre-Deployment

  1. Inspect each unit for damage, module integrity, and secure payload.
  2. Verify battery state, return-to-home setpoint, and control link.
  3. Confirm firmware and tasking-plan versions match the manifest.

Scope & Tasking

  1. Check surface conditions and deconflict the operating scope against other operations.
  2. Load the scope boundary and approved tasking plan into each unit.
  3. Verify abort and loss-of-link behaviour before authorising launch.

Launch & Monitor

  1. Authorise launch only with full pre-deployment and scope sign-off.
  2. Monitor group telemetry and scope boundary adherence throughout the mission.
  3. Recover units, log runtime hours, and report any anomaly.
