Purpose

To govern the routine monitoring and scheduled inspection of every surface across THE RESET surface grid, ensuring surface health, counter-pattern integrity, and pattern-load readings are assessed on a defensible cadence. The procedure maintains a continuous record for each monitored surface from instrumentation through retirement.

Scope

All routine monitoring and scheduled inspection of instrumented surfaces on the surface grid.

In scope:

Out of scope:

Definitions

Grid Block
A lettered cluster of monitored surfaces sharing a common instrumentation stand and patrol cadence.
Pattern Load
The measured density of active dark patterns on a surface, graded against the standard scale.
Inspection Cadence
The mandated interval between full surface inspections, varying by surface risk and prior findings.

Responsibilities

Surface Monitoring Lead (Owner)
Owns the inspection schedule and signs off surface-status changes recorded in the surface register.
Surface Technician
Executes surface inspections, supplemental feeding, and logging on the prescribed cadence.
Surface Health Officer
Reviews flagged surfaces and authorises escalation to containment-security or veterinary pathways.

Procedure

Pre-Inspection

  1. Confirm the day's inspection list against the grid register and current cadence.
  2. Verify probe-node health and stage the capture tools for the block.
  3. Record ambient telemetry conditions; defer inspection if the noise floor is above threshold.

Surface Assessment

  1. Open a read-only capture of the surface and work its components from the periphery inward.
  2. Confirm counter-pattern presence and effect by Mesh telemetry.
  3. Grade the pattern load, recommender integrity, and disclosure coverage against the standard scale.
  4. Screen for new or anomalous pattern signatures on each component.

Closeout

  1. Stage a counter-pattern refresh where coverage falls below the standard floor.
  2. Close the capture and confirm the surface is left in its original state.
  3. Log all findings and flag any surface for follow-up before leaving the block.
